Our Signature Presentation
Angela Johnston
Lead Advocate
Since 2009, Angela has been initiating and facilitating community discussions on the challenging topic of child sexual abuse. She delivered an informative talk on the physiological impact of trauma at TedxMoncton in 2013.
Angela coordinated a 2-year provincial project to implement a sexual violence strategy among 20 community organizations. In 2015 she was appointed to the Provincial Public Awareness Committee which produced an award winning awareness campaign. Angela has received recognition from the Province of Nova Scotia for her entrepreneurial leadership and innovation for helping to build a better future for the province.
She co-authored a published Letter to the Editor on behalf of all Provincial Sexual Violence Project Coordinators and is published in a compilation of essays and reflections. She is a peer counseling trainer and a student of professional trauma recovery practices. She was a presenter at the 7th and 8th annual Tools for Life Conferences, the 3rd annual Emergent Learning Conference and she is a past member of the local Communities Addressing Suicide Together (CAST) Coalition Conference.
She is an Authorized Facilitator and Certified Instructor of Stewards of Children® sexual abuse prevention training.
